two

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

24 hours before your appointment, remember to:

Stop using your fireplace, wood stove or gas stove. For safety’s sake, we need to work with an appliance that is completely cool. As a courtesy, please remove all ash from the firebox.

THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

Remove fragile or precious items from the area near the fireplace. We need about 5 to 6 ft around the fireplace to be clear to get our equipment in place.

Watch us work if you’d like. Customers learn a great deal about chimney safety from watching us work, so we encourage it.

You want a space to gather with your friends and family to enjoy the ambiance and relaxation a fireplace brings. Keep your chimney system operating and looking its best by calling Nashville’s favorite chimney sweep. We’ll create a plan to bring your system back to top performance.

I Have a New House So It Should be Fine

Another place we keep seeing issues is in newer construction. Many times there are people who build houses that are not chimney or fireplace professionals. There is a certain amount of clearance needed and when this is not to code, potential fire can happen. This is why we recommend for new construction or a new home to get a level 2 inspection, so we can see what is going on inside the unit from firebox to the crown. This way the homeowner, you, can be assured everything has been done for your fire to safely burn inside your fireplace.

In older homes we find the fireplaces and chimneys have been built without a flue liner. Not having a flue or chimney liner can become a very dangerous situation for carbon monoxide.

It doesn’t matter if you are a new homeowner or have been in your current home for years, your chimney should still be properly cared for.
